Book shelf

My love affair with books and reading started at a rather tender age. Since then, I haven’t been able to step into a bookstore without walking out with at least one book! Given that I’m always immersed in a book, I figured it would be a good idea to list out the books I’ve read each month. All the books are also starred on a scale of 1-4 (scale explained below). Books that have been reviewed on the blog are linked. If you’re wondering what book to read next, why not take a look at the list below and see if something piques your interest? Happy reading! :)

  8. Hey MG, am loving this collection, have read a few of them, must check out the others. I average about 2 books a week, so am constantly searching for new authors. I’m also a home schooling mum of 4 whose kids are hungry readers too. My older 2 are 9 and 11 and read early teenage stuff, so feel free in giving us ideas if you come across any. They’re both reading Mark of Athena at the mo. And I’m reading Anna Karenina in Russian.

    • In Russian? Wow! Just out of curiosity, how many languages do you know? :)
Well…I’m not very sure about what books to recommend for kids as I don’t have any myself. I’m sure they’ve read Harry Potter. I’ve read some YA novels recently – The Talisman of El (interesting story, some not too great transitions though), The Little Prince (there’s one as a graphic novel too, which is lovely!). My favorite as a kid was A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett. If they haven’t read it, it’s highly recommended. :)

  9. We’ll check A Little Princess out. Thanks! 6 languages! xx
